Sauna bath can indeed make people relax. But the sauna should not more than 20 minutes because if you sweat continuously removed can make dehydration, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, fainting.
Sauna is the work being done in a closed chamber using heat up to temperatures over 70 degrees celsius. In this condition the body's temperature will soar to about 38-40 degrees Celsius in just a few minutes.
The experts recommend that gets maximum results, sauna bath should be no more than 15-20 minutes.
"Saunas are probably safe for the body, but there was little evidence to suggest that a sauna can provide benefits for health or relaxation," says Dr. Harvey Simon of the Harvard Mens Health Watch, as quoted from Health.Harvard.edu, Monday (14 / 3 / 2011).
Dr. Simon said during a sauna pulse rate will increase by 30 percent or more making it possible for the heart to work two-fold increase in number of pumping blood every minute.
Much of this extra blood flow will be channeled to the skin. This will allow blood to flow away from it's internal organs. Also blood pressure can not be predicted, in some people can be increased but the other is decreasing.
Studies show that heart patients who want to do the sauna should consult your doctor first before doing so. This is to avoid the risk of heart problems are more fatal.
"Patients with poorly controlled blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, unstable angina, heart failure or patients with heart disease and pregnant women may be advised to keep the temperature of the body or away from the sauna," said Dr. Simon.
Dr. Simon suggested for healthy people who want to do the sauna should do the following as a precautionary measure, namely:
Avoiding alcohol and drugs that could affect the production of sweat and overheating triggered either before or after the sauna.
Should be no more than 15-20 minutes in a sauna.
Conducting the process of gradually cooling after sauna.
Consume 2-4 glasses of cold water after sauna
Do not do the sauna when the body is sick or in conditions not fit.
Immediately out of a sauna if you feel dizzy or unwell
